In the United States alone, over 100,000 people are waiting for a kidney transplant; meanwhile, most rely on dialysis to survive. But a new frontier in medicine is offering hope: an artificial kidney implant designed to replicate the function of a human kidney\u2014without the need for a donor.<\/p>\n<h4>What Is an Artificial Kidney Implant?<\/h4>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">An artificial kidney implant is a bioengineered device intended to perform the essential functions of a natural kidney\u2014filtering waste, balancing fluids, and regulating electrolytes\u2014inside the human body.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Unlike traditional dialysis, which requires hours of treatment multiple times a week, these implants are designed to work continuously, much like a real organ.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Most cutting-edge designs combine advanced filtration technology with living kidney cells.
